Zion Mountain
When staying in East Zion, choose Zion Ponderosa over Zion Mountain Resort for its range of accommodation and recreation choices
If you are looking for lodging east of Zion National Park, choose Zion Ponderosa Ranch and Resort over Zion Mountain Resort. Not only does Zion Ponderosa offer more choices in accommodations, it also boasts more recreation possibilities. Zion Mountain Resort does not offer full hookup RV sites and tent camping sites, nor does it offer a swimming pool, a paintball venue, a climbing wall, a shooting range, a fishing pond, or a recreation barn where guests can play foosball, ping-pong and billiards.
The main reason guests stay at East Zion resorts is to explore nearby Zion National Park, a 229 square mile spectacle of incredible sandstone monoliths, forested plateaus and narrow canyons. The park’s most visited area is Zion Canyon, which features many hiking trails appropriate for all ability levels, including Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock and Riverside Walk. If you want to hike in Zion Canyon, Zion Ponderosa has the upper hand over Zion Mountain Resort. Zion Ponderosa offers its guests a hiking shuttle to the canyon that drops them off at the visitor center in the morning and picks them back up in the evening. The hiking shuttle helps guests avoid traffic, the frustration of finding a parking spot and the expense of gas.
If you want to get away from the crowds of Springdale, Utah, Zion Ponderosa is the perfect lodging option. While staying with us, you will feel like you are part of a large family while participating in one of our regularly scheduled events, such as ghost walks, interpretive talks, barn dances and bonfires – all activities Zion Mountain Resort does not offer. Your southern Utah vacation will be more memorable when you book your accommodations at Zion Ponderosa rather than other area resorts.
